Squirrels and Beavers take to the Water

Date: 13th Apr 2026 Author: Mark Eastman
Nearly 40 of our Squirrels and Beavers took over the K2 Crawley pool this weekend for an epic introduction to paddlesports! We started by testing out our buoyancy aids (and discovering that diving to the bottom is a lot harder when you’re built to float!), before moving on to:
🏄‍♂️ Paddleboarding – Mastering the art of the “sit-to-stand” wobble.
🛶 Kayaking – Learning to navigate the high seas (or at least the deep end).
🚢 The Mega Board – Ultimate teamwork to keep the giant board moving!
The sessions ended the only way they should: with a giant splash and plenty of jumps off the boards.
A massive thank you to the Adult volunteers, Explorer Scouts, and Scouts who jumped in to support our youngest members. We couldn’t do it without our amazing volunteer team! ⚜️
