Scottish Mountains

Some of the younger members of the Scout Active Support Unit (who are also members of Scout Network) have just come back from Scotland after a four day expedition in the Cairngorms.

They went to bag some Munro’s, completing some quality mountain days and get closer towards obtaining Scout permits! They had a great time battling against the elements, poor visibility, swarms of midges and the lack of public transport on Sundays! wild camping in some beautiful spots and appreciating the protection of local bothys, we also got to know some locals on our travels. Plans have already started as they’re hoping to return again at some point next year.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
