Remembrance Sunday – Nov 2022

Date: 14th Nov 2022 Author: Scout Websites

So proud of all our members today, having attended St Margaret’s Church for remembrance Sunday. First, we attended the first of two services in the Church, where will filled the Church to standing room. The young people parade the flags, led the readings and the prayers and was led by Revd Lizi who used her guiding background to talk about our scout promises. At the end of the service, we all processed out to the war memorial where we observed the two minutes silence with the community of Ifield and laid a wreath on behalf of the group

Today saw another milestone in the Group’s history and growth when we paraded two scout troop flags for the first time

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
