National Scout Rifle Championship – October 2023

Date: 22nd Jan 2024 Author: Mark Eastman

This weekend saw a number of groups from around the County travelled to Bisley for the Nation Scout Rifle Championship. They all got to experience a variety of ranges and guns, with a large number of our members walking away with podium finishes, some with more than one,

The event also allows for the adult volunteers to compete whilst also supporting the young people and the event.

Most of the ranges where being run by volunteers from West Sussex and were supported by other adults from the county.

As always, any event like this would not run without our great volunteers giving up their time to either support the young people and/or the championship.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
