Date: 6th Aug 2025

From Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 6th August, the Ifield Lion Cubs enjoyed a fun-filled and action-packed summer camp at Broadstone Warren.
Throughout the camp, the Cubs embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and determination – from collecting firewood to setting off on a long hike, their efforts were truly impressive. And their hard work paid off with some unforgettable experiences!
The Cubs threw themselves into a wide range of exciting activities, including crate stacking, abseiling, the leap of faith, climbing, archery, net climbing, tomahawk throwing, and zooming through the trees on a zip wire. They even learned how to belay – showing great teamwork, support, and encouragement for one another.
When they weren’t tackling adventurous activities, the Cubs kept busy playing games, throwing frisbees, and exploring the campsite. They spotted deer and rabbits, and also learned all about the Countryside Code.
Each evening, they gathered around the campfire – singing songs with great energy, led by Chil. The campsite was always filled with laughter and song!
A huge thank you to Nushka, who kept everyone well-fed with delicious meals including burgers, hot dogs, pasta, cakes, and hearty breakfasts – always followed by clean plates! On the final night, she got a well-earned break as we treated everyone to takeaway pizza.
Before heading home, the Cubs took care of the site and their tents, and wrapped up the adventure by learning some impressive circus skills.
What a fantastic few days it was – full of memories, laughter, and growth. The leaders are already hard at work planning next year’s camp. We can’t wait!
