Harvest Festival – September 2024

Date: 7th Oct 2024 Author: Mark Eastman
On Sunday 29th September the Group gathered for our Harvest Festival. The service led by Fr Dominic at St Margaret’s Church, Ifield saw the church full with the youngest Squirrel to the oldest Adult member along with parents and friends of the Group. We all heard from Fr Dominic about sharing and helping those less off than us. We also collected Harvests gifts for The Easter Team for those who need help in Crawley.
Thanks goes to our young people who represented the sections as flag bearers, Explorer Robert who did the reading, and those who led the prayers.
At the end of the service we had the chance to present some adult awards. Karen Pitt and Steve Charrington were presented with their 15 years long service award and Linda Edwards with her 20 year long service award. Three adult members have completed their leader training and were presented with their Wood Badges.
HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
