Chestnut Beavers Summer Camp 2025
Date: 1st Jul 2025

What an incredible weekend our 11 Beavers had at Beacon Hill campsite (28–29 June)!
Over two adventure-packed days, they earned their Nights Away, Hikes Away, Campcraft, and Outdoor badges —well done, Beavers!
We kicked off with caving—head torches on and lots of crawling through tunnels!
After lunch, Beavers got stuck into pioneering: catapults, knot tying & bird feeders.
Then it was cake and off on a hike through the beautiful St Leonard’s Forest.
Back at camp, it was DIY pizza time—rolling dough and topping their creations!
In the evening, nurse and SASU member Maja Jasko taught us some first aid skills.
We ended the night with a campfire sing-song, marshmallows, and a visit to Reigate Scouts’ camp. The Beavers were amazed to see Scouts sleeping in hammocks—not tents!
Tucked in and asleep by 11pm, our Beavers were up bright and early for tent-packing and a tasty fry-up.
Before heading home, they played wide games and created names using natural materials—Mole, Badger, and Robin—and learned fun bird facts too!
Thank you to all the leaders and helpers who made this camp such a success. Here’s to more outdoor adventures!
