2nd Ifield Lion Cub Scouts are Bowled Over
Our Lion Cub Scout Pack recently enjoyed a fantastic evening of sportsmanship and skill-building, hosted by the Downsman Bowling Club in West Green.
Taking over two indoor greens, the Cubs were challenged to swap speed for control, concentration, and precision. Indoor bowling is a game of patience, and our Scouts rose to the occasion remarkably well.
Mastering the “Curve”
The evening started with a lesson in physics: learning that a bowl doesn’t always travel in a straight line! Once the Cubs mastered the art of “the bend,” they were able to navigate around obstacles to score points and land their bowls impressively close to the jack.
The progress was so noticeable that by the end of the session, the club members were jokingly trying to “scout” our Cubs to sign up for their official league teams!
Looking Ahead to Summer
A huge thank you to the team at Downsman Bowling Club for their warm hospitality and expert coaching. It was a brilliant way for the pack to learn a new skill while engaging with our local West Green community.
The session was such a hit that the Pack are already looking forward to a return visit this summer to test their skills on the outdoor greens.
