2023 Climbing

Date: 22nd Jan 2024 Author: Mark Eastman

What a year for our climbing team. Our monthly community climbing sessions have grown strength throughout the year with a good number of young people attending and developing their skills. Several sections took their skills to make use of the climbing walls and abseiling towers at Blackland Farm and Broadstone Warren.

In addition, we have had members climbing outdoors locally at Stone Farm and further afield in Dartmoor, Brecon Beacons and North Yorkshire Moors. As massive thankyou to our volunteer instructors who give up their time to develop our members skills.

We also provided crate stacking for all the sections within our HQ, a great challenge of balance and trust.

Please not that our community climbing sessions will be the morning of the third Saturday of the month next year

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
