Lion Cub Scouts Senior Camp
Over the weekend of June 6th and 7th, 2nd Ifield Lion Cub Scouts were at Stanford for their Senior Cub Camp. And when we say “took over,” we mean it—the Cubs were completely in charge of running the camp and looking after the leaders!
From pitching their own tents to building survival shelters (just in case they needed a backup bed), these Cubs stepped up to the challenge. They gathered firewood, mastered the safety of using saws and axes, and learned how to build a fire from scratch. Every single meal was cooked entirely over an open flame.
The weather wasn’t on our side, leaving a lot of the local wood soaked through. A massive thank you goes out to Log Brothers, as well as some incredibly kind parents and locals, for donating high-quality dry wood. Thanks to you, we kept the fires burning for every meal!
The Cubs walked away with brilliant, traditional Scout skills—and memories of a fantastic weekend adventure.
