Recognising Young People’s Achievements – February 2024

Date: 9th Feb 2024 Author: Mark Eastman

Congratulations to all our Explorer Scouts who were recognised at the county awards reception this afternoon, Duke of Edinburgh Bronze & Silver awards, along with Chief Scout Gold, Platinum & Diamond awards and Young Leader Belt Buckles. All presented by our guest speaker Sussex Police’s Chief Superintendent Mr Stu Hale.

D of E Bronze was awarded to Scarlett and Nathan

D of E Silver was awarded to Megan, Amelia, Rebecca, Dawn and Lauren

Scarlett received her Chief Scout Gold Award which is the highest award a Scout can earn. To complete it, you need to complete all nine of the Challenge Awards, plus six Activity badges.

Amelia and Scarlett received their Chief Scout’s Platinum and Rebecca and Lauren received their Diamond Awards. Both these awards are open to Explorers and is linked to DofE. As well as completing some time volunteering, learning a new skill, getting better at a physical activity and a two/three day expedition as well as some activities from the International, Community and Values list.

The Young Leader Belt Buckle was awarded to Amelia on completion of the entire Young Leader Scheme (completion of ALL training modules and missions). This takes a lot of commitment over and above just attending Explorers.
