Rememberance Sunday 2021

Date: 22nd Mar 2023 Author: Scout Websites

They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

The Group were so pround of all our members as they showed their resepcted to all those who have fallen in wars and confilcts.

We wish to thank St Margaret’s who again allowed us to join them for a service and the act of rememberance. The service was compiled by our Explorer Scouts along with our President, Brian (Skip) Eastman and Revd Christine Spencer (Rector of the Parish). We saw all sections take part including the reading and the prayers which they had written.

We also saw a large amount of parents who also joined us, and filled the Church, we had young people sitting on the floor at the front and people standning at the back.

It was great to be able to formally remember this year.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
