St George

St George being the patron saint of Scouting, Scouts see this as an important celebration.

The Group started by joining others throughout the country in clapping for the carers as Scouts. It is estmated that about 100 members were out on Thursday 23 April, St George’s Day, to offer our thanks to the NHS staff and other key workers.

On the nearest Sunday to 23 April, St George’s Day, Scouts in the UK would traditionally gather to renew their promise. Unfortunatly with the current social distancing, we could not gather together. The group organised their own Celebration of St George with an on-line renewal of promises.

Although with major technical issues, we managed to get a full service on-line, and everyone renewed their promises. Below is the celebration as it was planned.
