Every Wednesday throughout the summer Tilgate Lake was busy with Scouts, Explorers and adults from the Group out Paddlesporting in kayaks and canoes.
The evening saw new scouts take on the challenge of learning to paddle somewhere near a straight line to the experienced paddlers working on advance strokes.
This year we also saw some of the Explorers start to take on some instructing and supporting the younger paddlers.
There was always a group of parents watching on from their picnic chairs, but also were really helpful with loading boats onto the trailers, they have become experts in loading and the group is really thankful for their help.
We also need to thank our instructors who, like all our adult helpers, give up their time to take the young people on the water. We were fortunate to have at least 3 instructors every night, with some covering extra nights at section meetings at the lake.
